TLI Group is fully committed to the prevention of injury and ill health of employees, contractors, clients and members of the public who might be affected by the activities of the company. All TLI staff undergo in-house behavioral safety training in addition to understanding the importance of “Home Safe”. Health and Safety are core values of the business and the continual improvement in Occupational Health and Safety management and Occupational Health and Safety performance is an integral part of the activities of the Company.

Overall responsibility for safety in TLI Group rests with the Directors, who act through managers and individual responsibility proceeds through the managers in turn to each employee. Each employee has an ongoing responsibility to co-operate with management, by taking care for their own safety and ensuring that their acts or omissions do not affect the safety of others.

TLI Group are committed to comply with all legal and regulatory safety obligations and standards that impinge on the work and activities of the company. The company undertakes to ensure that adequate resources are provided to implement the Health & Safety Policy. At periodic meetings or when deemed necessary our objectives, targets and policy are reviewed to ensure that they continue to reflect the activities of the company.

The Management Team will therefore ensure that:

  • Adequate resources are provided to ensure that proper provision can be made for health and safety.
  • Continued Professional Development of all our qualified personnel is encouraged to keep up to date with new developments in Safety & Health Legislation.
  • Sufficient avenues of communication are open between all staff and TLI Group management

 

TLI Group places particular emphasis on training and development of staff so that they are fully aware of required standards and have the necessary skills to meet safety requirements. TLI Group have implemented systems to monitor measure and continuously improve the company’s Health and Safety performance levels. The company’s process for risk assessment is used to identify risk and develop approved working methods to mitigate and manage risk.

TLI Group promote an open and proactive safety culture with staff and the objective is to maintain high standards of safety. TLI Group will build on Occupational Health and Safety management and occupational health and safety performance through the process of continual improvement.

Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

TLI Group value the health, safety and wellbeing of all our colleagues and supply chain.  TLI Group achieved the IBEC KeepWell Mark which demonstrates our commitment to care and support of all our colleagues.  The KeepWell Mark provides a structured framework that is audited under the following eight areas and standards: Leadership, Mental Health, Health and Safety, Smoke Free, Absence Management, Intoxicants, Healthy Eating and Physical Activity.  This has allowed the business to promote policies that align with the KeepWell Mark that ultimately help improve the health and wellbeing of our colleagues and which bring broad business benefits.

Furthermore, TLI Group have invested in enhancing our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) through a platform called Total Mental Health provided by Spectrum Life.  This is a comprehensive platform that provides tools and techniques that help our colleagues look after their wellbeing and mental health every day through coaching, nutritional information, fitness, and wellbeing supports.  The platform also provides mental health supports and unlimited counselling resources to consult with for all staff if required. It is our policy to manage our obligations to the environment in a responsible manner and to take a sustainable approach to developing our company’s business. TLI Group regards environmental protection as an integral and essential part of good business practice. We are committed to achieving and maintaining a high standard of environmental quality in all of our operations. As part of this policy we aim to:

  • Comply with all relevant environmental legislation and best management practices.
  • Having regard to TLI Groups commitment to the concept of social responsibility, work shall continue in developing and building partnerships with our clients, relevant local authorities, regulators and local resident groups.
  • Take account of environmental issues in the planning, design and implementation of projects in consultation with our client’s, design teams and customers.

ENERGY

TLI Group is committed to the continual improvement of our Energy Performance. This includes, where possible, preventing energy usage at source, taking into consideration business objectives, employees, the local community, and continual improvement of our Energy Management.

TLI Group recognises that in order to achieve improvements in our Energy performance, we need to:

  • Develop and maintain an Energy Management System with the aim of meeting the requirements of the ISO 50001 standard.
  • Uphold legal and other requirements regarding energy use, consumption, and efficiency.
  • Ensure continual improvement in our energy performance and energy management.
  • Ensure information and resources to achieve our objectives and targets.
  • Minimise energy usage through consideration of energy performance improvements in design and modification of our facilities, equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Establish, measure and review objectives and targets for the reduction in use of fuel and electricity.
  • Reduce any processes where energy concerns exist, where practicable.
  • Ensure that future operational processes and related service activities are given due energy usage consideration.
  • Communicate this policy to our customers and suppliers to encourage their involvement.
  • Promote and encourage policy awareness amongst employees, and increase awareness by improvement training.
  • Support the purchase of energy efficient products and services, and design for energy performance improvement.
