A Visit to Ardnacrusha: Nearly a Century of Renewable Energy
Last Thursday, members of the TLI Group team had the opportunity to visit the iconic Ardnacrusha Hydroelectric Power Station in Co. Clare.
Commissioned in 1929, Ardnacrusha was one of the most ambitious engineering projects undertaken by the newly established Irish Free State and played a major role in the development of Ireland’s national electricity network.
The tour offered a fascinating insight into the history, engineering and operation of the station, while also highlighting the scale and ambition behind a project that has been generating renewable electricity for almost a century.
A very worthwhile visit and a great opportunity to see one of Ireland’s most significant engineering achievements up close.
Thank you to ESB and the Ardnacrusha team for hosting us.
